About
Flourish Through Dance was founded in Derbyshire, East Midlands in 2025 by myself, Téa Oliver, with the aim to bring the joy and benefits of dance to those who cannot easily access it.

My love of dance began when I was around 12 years old attending weekly street/ hip hop dance classes at a local community centre. I then decided to start ballet and jazz classes at a local dance school called Dansarena. After audition, I was successful in gaining a bursary scholarship for the Junior Associates at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where I trained weekly in ballet and contemporary dance.
I then went on to gain a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (2020). Following this, completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Dance and Movement as Healing from the University of Derby (2023).

Throughout my life dancing has been an emotional outlet for me, a way to help me fully embody my thoughts and feelings, process them and release them. Connecting mind, body and spirit through movement allowed me to access a greater understanding and appreciation of myself. Upon graduating, I felt inspired to share my love of dance and its’ healing properties with vulnerable populations to hopefully make a positive impact on their lives.

I have built on my experience and knowledge through teaching both dance and yoga in primary schools, community centres, dance schools and SEND schools for a variety of different companies and organisations. I have also completed a CPD training program 'Dance in Cancer Care Introductory Training' by Move Dance Feel (Founded by Emily Jenkins). All of my work and training has inspired me to create my own business, Flourish Through Dance, with the aim of helping different populations through movement.

I hope to reach many who will benefit from the healing properties of dance and movement and for them to experience joy and self-growth as they flourish through the exploration of dance.
